Scott and Virginia had their first date on a rainy February evening at a trendy lounge downtown Toronto in 2012. After hours of talking and sharing a bottle (or two) of wine they quickly realized the many things they had in common, including the same quirky sense of humour…Little would they know that two years later they would be planning an exciting wedding in Muskoka – and are we ever excited to be part of their special day! Although cottage country is where the wedding will take place, their hometown of Toronto has a special place in both Virginia and Scott’s hearts. Because of this they wanted the engagement photos to reflect some
Featured on The Co.
We are so excited to be featured on The Wedding Co. again – this is our favourite Toronto-based Wedding website so it’s always a delight to be part of it! The featured engagement session was so fun to do – Virginia and Scott both wanted an outdoor vibe but in the city, so High Park and Sunnyside Beach were the perfect backdrops to capture their love for each other. Check out some of the photos here: http://www.theweddingco.com/urban-lakeside-engagement-shoot and stay tuned for more photos on our own blog, coming next week!
Creative: Behind the Scenes
One of the (many) great things about being photographers is the fact that we get to be super creative in our work while meeting some pretty amazing people along the way. But capturing weddings doesn’t only give us the chance to be social; it also allows us to see incredible hard work and planning come to life. Each wedding has so many imaginative details and unique elements, all of which help us to get our own creative juices flowing and serve as constant inspiration in our own work. Recently all that inspiration was realized when we got together with some incredibly talented and equally as creative individuals to put together an early winter backyard wedding creative. We
Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and everything in between! May the holiday season and the New Year bring you all lots of love, joy, and many new adventures! XOXO The whole Boakview Clan!
Dana & Nick
We are super excited to share this latest wedding, which has also been featured on The Wedding Co. If we had to use one word to describe Dana and Nick it would be ‘serene’. Everything about this couple is relaxed, composed, and tranquil, which makes their elegant vintage wedding all the more spectacular. As wedding photographers, we know that weddings can be stressful at times and after seeing all the whimsical details, the attention to the smallest little things, and the unique mixture of cultural traditions (Dana is Arabic and Nick is Northern Irish) we were amazed at how these two always managed to stay unruffled throughout the entire planning process. Dana’s secret?
Engaged! Carly & Olly
After a whirlwind few months we’ve finally had a chance to sit down and update our blog, and, as promised, here is a look at one of our most recent engagement shoot we did right here in the city. Carly and Olly are not only adorable (just spend 5 minutes with these guys and you pretty much swoon from the cuteness) but they are also genuine and super fun. Huge fans of the water (they are getting hitched in Mexico) we decided to take them to Sunnyside Beach in the west end of Toronto for a little impromptu picnic. It was touch and go for a little bit as we
Cottage Dreaming
Summer is officially over (boo) but the memories of warm breezes, cool drinks, and balmy evenings still remain, especially if you are as big of a shutter bug as we are! In order to give summer the send-off that it properly deserves, we are posting a little cottage-dreaming throwback from a place far away from our Toronto hometown. In a small country in the heart of Europe, exists an even smaller little village nestled in the midst of towering mountains. Here, many childhood summers were spent laughing, playing, eating, running, swimming and all the other lovely activities that make summers so special. Summer may be on its way out, but
Engaged! Eddie & Alison
Eddie and Alison are the quintessential outdoors couple, after all they met and fell in love over a conversation about sleeping under the stars in a bivy sack (you’ll have to ask them what a bivy sack is). To capture their love (and general adorableness) we decided to take these two lovebirds for a picnic in a beautiful conservation area and just as predicted, they felt right at home! With our trusty blanket in tow, some snacks and warm tea (we decided to leave the bivy sack at home), we had a blast photographing this lovely couple’s sincerity and adoration for one another. Never a dull moment, we even had

We are so excited to share that our latest engagement session with the lovely and super fun Alison & Eddie has been featured on one of our most favourite Toronto-based wedding sites: The Wedding Co. We will be sharing the pictures soon, but until then you can check out the featured post here!
Postcards from Havana…
Ernest Hemingway once said, “I live in Cuba because I love Cuba” and it is not hard to see why. The beaches, the music, the food, the people – Cuba truly is a veritable mosaic of bright colours, melodic sounds and cultural richness. In particular Havana, with its rich history and charming architecture, the city has the ability to capture the hearts of even the surliest of tourists. And if the spirit of the city is not enough, then pop into a pub and have a mojito, a yummy concoction that’s guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face!
